A recent addition to my favorite podcasts, cheap audio man doesn't usually review things I might buy, but he does have very interesting and well researched material.

This one, about music industry corruption, really blew me away.

It's a little long, but enjoy!

That's old news -- this shit has been going on since the early rock & roll days of the '50s.

Money talks -- and bullshit walks. And don't get me started on the artist's robbery going on with streaming.

Anyone out there in DIY land that don't know about this crap -- now you know. IT IS NOT FAKE NEWS!

Thanks Stuart!

Spotify is using AI to generate new fake music so that they do not have to pay artists less than half cent per play

As far as the fiasco of the fire destroyed master tapes and the attempted cover up, it just reinforces why analog masters should in reality, not just in hype, be digitized at high resolutions and the resulting files distributed to multiple safe locations. We have also seen master tapes degrade with oxide flaking and other conditions that make them sub par if not unusable. BTW, if you want truly archival digital files, they should be copied at regular intervals to new files while the error correction algorithms can still read them faithfully. Even the ones and zeros in on digital media can degrade over long times, but if refreshed on a regular basis will be truly permanent.
