A friend just gave me the issue of TAS with this article. It was great to learn a few bits that I do not know about David.
He definitely deserves these kind words. I find David a true kind sole who freely shares his knowledge without the slightest superiority.

Then I turned the page to find that TAS also gave the same honor to Paul McGowen of PS audio.
Now Paul is a great guy but I have never heard one piece of PS Audio equipment the slightest bit musical. I even purchased one of PS Audio's early preamps in the elate 90's that was touted as being GOAT.
I returned it within a few days because it sounded so bad I thought it was defective. It was a fight to get a refund because the dealer said there was nothing wrong with it.

So I while I agree with TAS with the honor they bestowed on David Bering I feel they should change Paul McGowen's award to the "Used Carman's Hall of Fame".

Interesting. I've never heard any PS Audio equipment. Is it really this bad?

My personal opinion.
I have heard small and large systems and the PS house sound is not my cup of tea.
The last time I was at Axpona (2022) I heard their mega system big speakers and big amps all driven by the monster powerplants. I found it unlistenable.
