Steve,

The reason she re-released those albums were because she did not own the rights to them and had limited control over the artistic quality, reuse and distribution. Every artist should have the creative say over their art, and have the right to decide whether it is suitable for release, to profit off the royalties, and to license and approve the use of their art. This is called copyright. If she is making a bundle of money, then good for her and her good business sense.

It is no different than someone having a great and marketable idea, patent it, and then build a successful business producing or licensing the product, making a ton of money in the process. We idolize those people as brilliant entrepreneurs and business people.

I agree. The music industry are vultures. Own your masters.

On the flip side, I have heard about certain artists going to Europe, release an album, get paid up front, and then they don't care after that (so to speak).

However, musicians don't make money off of sales. They money off of touring. And, she makes enough money on touring. Most artists tour on buses or vans, not on private jets. They also don't own multiple mansions like she does.

The cost of everything is going up, so I can't feel bad about super rich celebrities losing money.

Come on now fellas, what are you thinking? What man/men would you say those things about?

I am 100% against people like Nick Cannon who has can't control themselves and has 12 kids with 6 different baby momma's and one ex-wife.

So, you really DON'T see why those comments are offensive, do you? Everybody reading this thread should call it out.

My original post was not to bad mouth Taylor Swift. All the power to her and her success. I just do not understand it but that's me. To me she is a curiosity and only that.

If her success leads to youngsters getting into other music and buying gear that's great.

Having multiple kids out of wedlock is a NOT a good example of a roll model. And, I can say the same thing about Elon Musk. He has 12 kids, three divorces, and a past relationship with a singer I KNEW would not last. But unlike Nick Cannon, Elon serves a purpose in life (even if I never buy a Tesla).

Having multiple boyfriends (a.k.a. a body count) is NOT a good example of a roll model. Soon, this football player will be kicked to the curb, and new song will be written. How many time has that "insult to injury" been pulled?
