Will make a new connector plate to remove the original XO and let me direct connect either the original passive XO or DSP XO to the speaker.

More binding posts are coming from PE and have a small piece of 1/4in plywood to cut the plates to seal the boxes since they are acoustic suspension speakers.

The Infinity Kappa 8 drivers being repaired by Millersound will be shipped back on Monday. Should be here in a few days from shipping.

Getting closer! :D

The Infinity Kappa 8 Polydomes and 12in woofers are back from repair.

Now to see if the passive crossovers are still working with the drivers connected.

Will be rewiring the speaker drivers to binding posts to use with the DSP crossover and the passive crossover exterior to the original box.

Unpacked the repaired drivers for the Kappa 8 repair.

Wiring the drivers directly to a new terminal plate.

Wiring from the drivers to the new connector plate is complete.

Now to remove the wiring from the Polygraph K fast-on connectors to rewire with the new cables.

Are these "cheesy" binging posts with steel nuts? Would Danny approve? LMAO!

Stuart,

I need 5-way binding posts with screw and nut posts, so no tube connectors.

No steel posts. Gold plated brass 5-way binding posts and locking banana jacks. My favorites are still the Superior Electric BP30-10 series binding posts but 10 pairs gets expensive.

Updating the passive crossovers in the Kappa 8's with high quality passive components would probably cost more than the dspNexus 2x8. There are eight 2-pole filters with variable resistor pads per speaker. Even the woofer has a 2-pole high pass filter with a 1400uF NPE.

Did you ever consider using Speakon connectors? -

I use Neutrik Speakon 4-pole connectors on the servo subs wiring.

It is possible to use them, but just decided to use the 5-way binding posts as they work with normal speaker cable terminations. Easier to drill the holes for the binding posts as they are #10 screw size.

I use these -

and these -

https://www.amazon.com/Speaker-Terminal ... 4&sr=8-233

I do not solder to the driver end of the binding posts
but use these connectors on the wire coming from the drivers -
