I have the Radio Shack PZM version without the handles. Also have a Crown SASS-P stereo mic with two PZM elements that works well.

Ever done any recordings with them?

Yes, but it was so long ago I can remember the details. I might still have a B&O stereo ribbon mike, but it is buried so deep in the junk room I haven't a clue as to where it is anymore.
