Poineer PL-7 Direct Drive TT

A good friend of my wife is moving to FL in May, and has decided to part with her turntable.... So, Pioneer PL-7 direct drive turntable, with an unknown Pickering cartridge, with boxes for both the TT & cart. $25.00

Does it work? I used to have a old Pioneer turntable that would play real slow (16RPM-ish) sometimes on 45 RPM. Used to have to click the speed buttons a few times to get it to work.
