I live just down the street from NIST and once got a tour of the facility including their museum. Jacob Rabinow was a long time employee there with many unique designs and patents. Here are some interesting links including the tonearm patent: https://www.nist.gov/nist-museum/jacob-rabinow https://web.archive.org/web/20160304055 ... index.html https://patents.google.com/patent/US3249362A/en At that time they had the original prototype of the linear tracking tonearm that Rabinow designed. I don't know if it is currently on display. |

I don't know if it is currently on display. The one I restored was fiddly to say the least -- but once done and dialed-in it worked as advertised. |
