Hey everyone,
My name is Roy, I am not currently a DIY guy but am into hi-fi/audiophilia and learning more about design and construction of the music-playing kit I love so much. Thanks for having me in the group!

You remind me of myself 40 years ago. There is an upgrade rat race that either gets old first or when money runs out. :thumbdown: So -- I started to wonder what I could do myself to get improvements in playback quality. Well -- I haven't met a piece of kit that could not be improved. There are things a hands-on hobbyist can do that is either not cost effective for a manufacturer or difficult to implement in a mass production environment. :thumbup: Of course the DIY aspect of this hobby is also an upgrade rat race. But hey -- it keeps me out of trouble. ;)

Kodos to Walt for his DIY keeping him out of trouble. For me it always seems to get me deeper in the hole. But then it might have something to do with my compulsive personality. In any case, as I go down the hole I always have this big grin on my face.

Well -- it was either whores and whisky or audio. Audio is much more compatible with my marriage. :crazy:

When I was younger I spent a lot of money on booze & women. The rest I just squandered. ;)
