Working in an older gentleman's house, one currently ravaged by water, I saw these sitting in a corner. Vaguely remember something about them from long ago, but...

Since the homeowner can't live in his house, he isn't available to me to tell me what they are, and I don't want to touch or move them.

Does Ohm Walsh ring a bell? These look like the less expensive model with just the Walsh tweeter.

By George, I think you've got it! Ohm Walsh! That's the ticket. I wonder if they were ever good?

From what I recall the bigger ones were interesting but had a strange "cupped" mid-range coloration.

There is a German company that is doing the Walsh concept with modern materials, but I have never heard them. A buddy of mine had a pair that he somehow damaged and had me repair them, but I never auditioned them. He tired of them after a few months of ownership and dumped them.

In all the photos I have seen of the Walsh Ohm speakers the cone had the apex facing up. This one appears t be facing down.

Here is a drawing of the original Walsh patent. Note the downard direction of the cone.

As I recall from the distant past, the main product was as the patent drawing shows and what the German company has currently improved upon.

The speaker that Stuart was inquiring about was an Ohm lower cost product to at least have the Walsh omni-directional tweeter.
