i bet if you just add any mass to the inside of any electronics one would hear a difference. Playdoh would work just as well. Remember the first of this stuff was the VPI bricks. They still are highly sought after and command a high price. |

I was at a Nordast demo on Saturday at JS Audio showing off their "Audiophile" Ethernet cables. They used a high end Wilson, Dagostino, and DCS system which sounded way too HiFi for me, I just hate that stuff, but to each thier own. I did hear some positive improvements from the basic Amazon ethernet and thier $600 cable but no difference between their $600 cable and thier top multi-thousand dollar cable. When playing around with my system since I am basically all streaming now I did try a couple of different (Nothing over $10) ethernet cables. I do feel i heard some improvement when I went from unshielded CAT 5 to shielded CAT 6E but I would not bet much on this. Also I do think galvantic isolation on the switch does make a slight improvemnt. |

Walt, read Paul's post again.... I'm pretty sure he's talking about a fiber optic link between the Ethernet switch and whatever device is actually talking to the DAC... Roscoe |

Roscoe Any referral to fiber-optics was nowhere in his post. ???? He was talking Ethernet (as in wires) and galvanic isolation (as in pulse transformers).
