On the fence with modern classical music

I continue to dip my toes into this realm and have to admit that I find it very difficult to listen to recorded modern classical music. I can find it either very boring, irritating, or wonderful.

Years ago, I realized that many if not most women dress to impress other women, not men.

I suspect the same applies to many composers who want to impress other composers, not an audience.

And of course, how many of us want to impress other hi-fi junkies.
