What's worse: an old DAC or a built in DAC in the average cheap DVD/CD player? Would that old DAC improve the player's sound? |

You’d need to look at it on a case by case basis, but generally speaking a good old dac is probably better than a cheap new player... |

It's that Pop Pulse that has the left channel issue when connected to optical. I hooked it to a old Sony DVD player and use it to listen to CDs. |

There's no one answer for every possible combination of products. Try it both ways and see which sounds better. It's fun! |

You could try just listening to music instead of monkeying around with junk equipment |
