Wishlist: 1. Ease of use 2. 3D modeling 3. Auto generation of parts drawings and BOM 4. Cutting layout of parts from a given stock of MDF. |

Not really what you are asking for, but probably what you need. Free? No. $100 I've used earlier versions at work and home for years. Very easy to work with, but I'm almost exclusively using the 2D functions. Very capable software. https://www.turbocad.com/designcad/ Hope it can work for you. Stuart |

Saw the videos on YouTube. Seems to be a capable CAD package designed for "engineers". Couple of other free CAD packages I saw were like clay modeling exercises, joining and manipulating basic rendered 3D shapes. |
