In audiophile land there are many poor ideas, some which merely waste money, some which would make the system's sound worse in some way, and then there are the downright stupid ideas.

They'll probably sell thousands! :o

Yeah, a crazy/stupid idea, but I cannot tell if this is just a passive reverse RIAA circuit, or if some power is required. I could not blow up the circuit board to see if the black objects were capacitors or transistors. If the latter, there is no apparent source of power to the unit AND you also need capacitors anyway for the RIAA time constants.

It looks like a perfectly good MC stepup transformer if connected the other way without the circuit board. I suspect he was trying to repurpose a MC transformer connecting it backwards.
