In researching amplifiers I found this kit in the VTV website -

https://vtvamplifier.com/product/nilai- ... amplifier/

It got a glowing review on audiosciencereview -

https://www.audiosciencereview.com/foru ... iew.41669/

I thought those of the group not into tubes would find it of interest.

You might also want to look at the Purifi Eigentakt amp that VTV makes.

https://vtvamplifier.com/product/vtv-am ... on-eval-1/

The Hypex and Purifi amps were designed by Bruno Putzeys and all are very good. See the note below from a web post:

Ncore (the original one) is still better than others but the newer versions of Ncore (NCoreX and Nilai) and the Purifi amps, and all those are variations of the same designed by Bruno Putzeys, and differences are relative small.

I purchased one of the Purifi amps to drive my Satori beryllium tweeters in my quad amped system. It worked very well so I purchased another to drive the Satori Egyptian papyrus midranges in that system. I have been very happy with both. They can produce an amazing level of detail without being harsh. I think that is because they have an extremely low level of IM distortion and also very good phase linearity. I would expect something similar from the Nilia.

VTV has great service with fast deliveries. You should note that the Purifi is an assembled unit for under $900 while the Nilai is a kit. I think you could not go wrong with either.

That is good info but what are the power ratings of the amp. I can't find that info on the VTV website. If it is there it is well hidden.

Quad Amp'd? You are not using Eggs?

Yes, I am using the eggs with a separate stereo amp for the tweeters, mids, bass, and distributed subs. The term quad amped does not relate to the Quad speakers but rather the common progression from biamped to triamped to quad amped representing four separate amps, all driven by my Danville Signal dspNexus 2/8. For the woofers I use a Crown Macro Reference and for the distributed subs a Crown Studio Reference.

Good upgrade. I am sure the 4-way active system is a significant upgrade from the passive speaker-level crossover you were using earlier.

I built the passive crossover only for use when testing amplifiers full range. For playing music at home, I always used active. It was the DEQX express II before and now the dspNexus which has better performance.
