Came across this one-of-a-kind super tweeter design by muRata from Japan.

Very interesting.....

I wondered about those. Did you try them out? And if you did -- what's your opinion about the playback quality?

No, Walt.
I did to try it. Just looking for supertweeter upgrade options. Currently using NeoCD2.0 ribbon tweeter for frequencies 8kHz and above.

I did some homework. Neither one is efficient enough to pair with your horn system unless you amplify the tweeters separately.

Having said that I didn't realize that the Murata tweeters were Peizo-electric Ceramic tweeters. I played with peizos decades ago and found that they are hard and edgy.

You might consider AMTs but with the same efficiency issue. As far as myself is concerned, I successfully applied JBL 077 slot tweeters that are based on the ring-tweeter diaphragm.

They have a 105-db sensitivity and can be amazingly transparent and musical as long as the crossover and connecting cables are the best possible. They also have the same same horizontal dispersion as my A7-800 horns.

With a little crossover overlap the A7-800 horns and the 077s work together as one. The icing on the audio cake was that even mid-range performance improved. ???

Not the same as the others, but compare to my favorite, the SB Acoustics Satori beryllium tweeter I use in the eggs.

I am driving the HF with AES SuperAmp DJH version. Using only active analog crossover.

In audible frequencies, yes. Article claims their resonant frequency is 103kHz. Dont think any other material can go that high.

I am going to check out the AMTs, especially the dual version to artificially increase the depth. I do like the ribbon super tweeters to bring the sweetness to the top end as there is enough energy in the system of the horns from 100Hz-8000Hz.
