While doing research for my upcoming article on the BACCH system, one of the things I discovered was that in addition to the generally known spatial enhancement of crosstalk cancellation provided by BACCH, it also reduces comb filtering effects of centrally placed sound sources with a two or more speaker setup. The above link gives a clear description of that problem with interesting audio examples of the resulting damages to a guitar, a voice and a drum set. Definitely something to be avoided and is ameliorated with BACCH. The resources in the upcoming article will provide more food for thought, but not in such a simple fashion. https://www.izotope.com/en/learn/what-i ... 9Si_axB6Zu |

Thanks for the link, Tom. Both the explanation and especially the audio clips, make the cause and sound of the filtering very understandable. Stuart |
