The AGN II left line array planar install started.

The local hardware supplier ran out of my preferred nylon washers, so waiting on restock. Had enough to install 3 planars for today. Will check on another source to see what is available.

he prototype pair of AGN II Open Baffle Planar Line Arrays are assembled and ready for wiring.

Will be using Belden 1309A 14awg stranded wiring to all the planars directly to the monoblock amps.

If it were me I would use solid-conductor silver-glad copper wire with Teflon insulation. Why compromise all of that hard work with general-purpose PVC speaker wire?

Here is a link:

Another thing I recommend is to have the woofer towers time-aligned with the panels. Then your system will "speak" as one.

Walt,
I am stripping the PVC output jacked off the Belden cables. The wire insulation is much lower dissipation factor than the PVC. I would prefer Analysis Plus Oval 14 cable, but too heavy and the prices are a bit crazy.

The dspNexus 2x8 DSP processor has time delay for each DAC channel variable from the LCD display. Easy time offset measurement that I do for all my systems between the mains and subs.

I will also have time delay offsets for each pair of planars from the center of the array. to simulate at curved cylindrical propagation front from the planars. Easy enough to do since time delays can be set in samples. The shortest delay is 1/192000sec.

I should have read the data sheet more carefully. The conductors are sheathed with polyethylene. Not quite the DA and DF of Teflon, but can serve the music well.

Yep, pretty decent wire that is now out of the PVC sleeve.

Just finished wiring the left AGN II planars with 14awg stranded wiring.

Next is wiring the right speaker planars.

The wiring harness and the right AGN II speaker wired for use.

The wires will get locking connectors to go directly to the amps.

The pair of AGN II Planar Line Arrays have locking connectors installed. Using Rhodium plated locking banana plugs for each pair of planar drivers in the array.

Next is connection to the 3 pairs of Orchard Audio Starkrimson monoblocks with the GaN SMPS to the dspNexus 2x8. Then time for measurements and listening trials.

Have the pair of AGN II Line Arrays wired to the Orchard Audio Starkrimson Monoblocks.

Next connect the XLR balanced cables to the dspNexus 2x8 with the AK4499EX DACs for measurements and listening. I like balanced as when I measured SNR, it was 30dB lower noise floor with balanced than unbalanced.

The AGN II's are wired to the amps and amps to the dspNexus 2x8 with AK4499EX DAC's. Power to the 6 Starkrimson Monoblock amps and dspNexus 2x8 are coming from a P.I. Audio Group BlunderBUSS.

I had to relocate the BUSS closer to the center of the room and the IEC power cord needs to be about 1 meter longer. Problem is the longer AC cables were in the room water problem. Now to come up with a new solution.
