If you are strong (100 lbs) and want to try it I have an Emotiva XPR-2 Power Output (rated power; THD < 0.1%): 600 watts both channels driven into 8 Ohms. 1000 watts both channels driven into 4 Ohms. |

Just have to get the fanless SMPS wired up to the amp modules. |

How do the Orchard Audio Starkrimson Ultra monoblocks compare to the Icepower boards available from Parts Express? |

No clue, I have the original Starkrimson GaN 150W Monoblocks and used them at the LSAF show. The folks coming to the room said it had the best sound at the show. Tells me I do not need to compare to anything else. The DIY Strakrimson Ultra's are 250W and will be trying them with the MG10QR's as they like higher power amps. |

To try out the MG10QR speakers with the DSP crossover will be using the Orchard Audio DIY Pizza Box Amp v2.1 with the DIY Starkrimson Ultra amp boards with the new 1kW fanless SMPS. The Starkrimson Ultra amp modules should do well on the bass panels and the original Starkrimson Monoblocks on the Quasi-Ribbons. Yes, the 4A FB fuses will stay in place and one added to the QR's. Next is to mod the MG10QR's to allow direct access to both the woofer panel and QR's for connection to the amps. The dspNexus 2x8 DSP crossover design is done and will be ready when the speaker mods are complete. |

Here is the Orchard Audio DIY Starkrimson Ultra monoblock modules I am using with the Mean Well +/-36V @ 1000W smps. Just two Mean Well 36V@500W SMPS in series to get the dual supply. One thing I really like about the GaN boards is the simpler SMPS design than most other Class D amps. Most seem to need a multi voltage SMPS for operation that increases complexity. That is not the case with the Ultra DIY modules. Just the dual supply. https://orchardaudio.com/product/starkr ... mp_module/ |
