With much credit to Roscoe for getting me headed down the right path, I've got my new (to me) Stromberg-Carlson ASR-333 amplifier up and running. Roscoe helped with some cursory testing to make sure I wasn't going to burn my house down and then advised me on what it needed. Most of the tubes were on their way out, so basically I just bought new tubes - 6AV6 (2), 6U8A (2), and 6BQ5 (4, matched).
I've temporarily retired my Dual 606 turntable in favor of a streaming audio setup. For that, I'm using a WiiM Mini (streamer) coupled with a S.M.S.L SU-6 (DAC). I still need to subscribe to a streaming service, which will be Amazon Music HD. For the very short-term, I've got the WiiM Mini coupled to our Alexa (Echo Show) and streaming through that. I'm not currently planning on running music off a local server or anything like that.
I definitely got lucky with this ebay acquisition. Given it came straight from an old unrestored console stored away somewhere, I'm fairly certain I'm running on the original components and an amalgam of bug juice and dust keeping it glued together. Eventually I'll start poking around inside to assess the state of the electronics and conduct the necessary maintenance and repairs. I know I have a lot to learn. However, for now, I'm just enjoying everything I'm seeing and hearing.
I'm not sure how to get the images to show. Let me know if you have any ideas on that.
