In 2001 with help of folks in another forum, I replaced the opamp with a pair of nickel 1:2 75ohm transformers. The improvement was huge. I still have the transformers and want put them to use. DIYINHK is selling a dual mono Ess9038 based DAC. The best feature of the DAC is, you easily hookup a custom IV and LPF stages easily. Going to order the DAC to play around . Any ideas for an “audiophile” grade LPF and tube IV stage. We can collaborate if interested. https://www.diyinhk.com/shop/audio-kits/148-dual-mono-es9038q2m-es9018k2m-xmos-dsd-dxd-768khz-usb-audio-dac-with-bit-perfect-volume-control.html |
